Value Chain Development VCDP/FG IFAD assisted in Taraba, through Foji ajenWomen Casava Processor, on Wednesday trained Cassava women farmers on Garri processing in Taraba State.
Mr. Irimiya Musa the state program coordinator, represented by Mrs. Altine James the Ruler institution, gender and mainstreaming officer explained at the event in Wukari that the farmers were VCDP additional financing, drowned from three local government areas of Jalingo, Bali and Donga to undergo the study.
She said the state VCDP was passionate for the training due to its life changing value and changed the trainees to ensure their training knowledge is put to practice for more value development and improve glory for VCDP.
Altine also advised them to always consider location, knowledge information, advertisement through physical contact and Media publications like Facebook and other media channels while practicing their business.
“The Cassava women farmers we are training today for Garri processing are VCDP additional financing that are drawn from three local government areas of Jalingo, Bali and Donga.
“The VCDP is passionate for the initiative due to its life changing value that would be generated after.
“We want you, the trainees, to take the training seriously. We want you to always consider location, knowledge information, advertisement through physical contact and Media publications like Facebook and other media channels while practicing your business
“You must all have interest, passion and human relations and maintain quality to actualize your business dreams”. Altine advised.
Meanwhile, Mr. Ezekiel Mamai Ambo, the agricultural processing and quality enhancement officer told the trainees that after a thorough research, VCDP discovered TME 419 Cassava as the best for more value and advised the trainees to shop for it for greater gain.
He also encouraged them to ensure proper hygiene and ensure NAFDAC registration when practicing their businesses to avoid Societal health implications.
In her remake, the founder of FOJIBAJEN WOMEN CASAVA PROCESSOR, Vitamin A Garri, White Garri, Cassava flour and Starch making, Mrs. Watsaji Angye commended Taraba VCDP for her passion to changing the lives of cassava women farmers in the state.
She admitted that the VCDP has brought her dreams to reality and pledged to always maintain the quality of her business for more value as required by VCDP.
Mrs. Angye also disclosed that through the assistant of VCDP, her company has so far employed over 30 ad-hoc staff for daily activities.
In their comments, the team leader for Bali local government, Dorothy Peter, Mr. David Jibo Maigida for Donga and mrs. Deborah Wilson for Jalingo both expressed willingness to ensure that the training was put to practice and grow their businesses to international status.
