The police, in a recent operation, apprehended a notorious kidnapper, Roland Raymond, just as he was about to collect ransom from a victim’s relatives in Adamawa State. Raymond, a resident of Detti Village in Ganye Local Government Area, was swiftly captured by authorities.
SP Suleiman Nguroje, the spokesperson for the Adamawa State Police Command, officially confirmed the arrest on Tuesday. Nguroje detailed that Alhaji Yahya Congo and Abraham Paul reported receiving a ransom demand of N600,000 from Raymond, prompting the swift police response in collaboration with local hunters.
Meanwhile, in Kaduna, the State Police Command managed to arrest an armed robbery suspect, Salim Aliyu, and seized his operational weapon, an AK47 Rifle, along with ammunition. ASP Mansir Hassan, the Public Relations Officer of the command, disclosed this in an official statement released to the press on the same day.
The statement highlighted the successful arrest of Aliyu, a 22-year-old resident of Badarawa Kwaru in Kaduna North, who was found with a cache of incriminating items, including military gear and personal belongings of high-ranking officials.
ASP Hassan emphasized the commitment of the Kaduna State Police Command to upholding law and order in the region.
