An individual involved in online fraud in Abuja has been handed a one-year jail term. The Abuja Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) made the announcement via their official handle on the X app. Christopher Simon, the fraudster, was convicted for impersonation by Justice N.E Maha of the Federal High Court Maitama.

Simon pleaded guilty and received a one-year prison sentence with an option to pay a fine of #200,000 (Two Hundred Thousand Naira).
Furthermore, he is required to swear an affidavit of good behavior, and the proceeds of his crime to be forfeited to the Federal Government.
