The Northern Youth under the auspices of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Youth Vanguard, North West zone has berated the Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum, Barrister Simon Lalong, for Withholding over 100 months’ salaries and other entitlements of New Nigerian Newspapers workers.
Reacting to the media publications of the newspaper workers union begging the governor for payment, its coordinator, Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmodu lamented in a statement signed on Saturday, asking whether that is how Tinubu’s lieutenants will convince them in the North to vote APC with the level of inhumanity shown in the act.
“I wonder why the union of New Nigerian Newspapers will be begging Governor Lalong even after huge sums have been realised from sales of New Nigerian Newspapers Properties, Sardauna’s legacies, in the name of settling New Nigerian Newspaper workers.
He explained that this money I understand is lying fallow in Northern governors account, I also understand that the NNN management has furnished the governor with all the details of the workers liabilities
“All Lalong need to do is to approve for disbursement and is unfortunate that all he cares for this time is campaign for Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“I wonder how Tinubu’s lieutenants will convince us in the North to vote APC when they are this inhuman. I also understand 103 workers have died waiting for this money.
“This is sincerely unacceptable. We join our strength in calling on Governor Lalong to as a matter of urgency to address this issue,”Ahmodu said.
