The Defence Headquarters has discredited a report published by an online news outlet claiming the demise of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa. In a statement released on Tuesday, the Defence spokesperson, Tukur Gusau, labeled the report as “unfortunate, unethical, and lacking credibility.”
Gusau unequivocally confirmed that General Musa is alive and in good health. He clarified that the CDS recently returned from an official assignment abroad and has resumed his duties with renewed energy and dedication.
“To set the record straight, the CDS, General CG Musa, is alive and in good health. The Chief of Defence Staff, who just completed an official assignment outside the country, has resumed his work with even greater determination to continue leading the Armed Forces of Nigeria with his exceptional leadership style,” stated Gusau.
Furthermore, Gusau acknowledged that the online newspaper in question has retracted the erroneous news story and issued an unreserved apology to the Chief of Defence Staff, his family, and the entire Armed Forces of Nigeria.
