The Board of Directors and entire staff at the Resource Centre for Human Rights & Civic Education (CHRICED) has celebrated frontline civil society leader Dr. Otive Igbuzor.
Dr. Igbuzor as he clocks the milestone age of 60. The frontline CSO poured encomiums on the civil society leader describing him as one who stands as an unwavering symbol of the struggle gor democracy and good governance in Nigeria.
In a statement signed by Executive Director, Comrade Dr. Ibrahim M. Zikirullahi, the group said: “Throughout his illustrious career, he has made substantial contributions to the advancement of democracy, the promotion of the rule of law, and the protection of fundamental freedoms in Nigeria.
Dr. Igbuzor, a scholar and practitioner in the field of development studies, has consistently provided conceptual clarity on important matters within the realms of development and governance.” CHRICED similarly noted that Igbuzor’s profound ideas should have helped position Nigeria on the cusp of realizing its full potential as the foremost powerhouse on the African continent and a global beacon for the Black race.
Dr. Zikirullahi lamented that despite the outstanding accomplishments of patriots like Dr. Igbuzor, Nigeria continues to grapple with challenges that hinder the realization of its political, economic, and cultural potential.
“Issues such as poverty, corruption, poor governance, and an uncertain future persist. In the face of these obstacles, Dr. Igbuzor has steadfastly rejected complacency, driven by an unshakable belief in Nigeria’s capabilities. Regardless of the adversities facing the Nigerian people, he remains a composed, calculated, and intellectually relevant voice, steadfast in his conviction that our nation can truly become the best version of itself.
As we honor this pro-democracy luminary and tireless advocate on the occasion of his 60th birthday, CHRICED extends warmest congratulations and wishes him many more years of impactful contributions to our society.”
