Parts of Abuja, Nigeria’s capital city, will experience a seven-hour blackout on Saturday and Sunday, the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), has said.
TCN, in a statement by its General Manager, Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, on Saturday, said there would be a planned routine maintenance on its 132/33kV 2X100MVA power Transformers in Apo Transmission Substation.
Mbah listed the areas that would experience power interruption to include; Garki, Asokoro, Lugbe, Airport Road, Gudu, Gaduwa,
Others areas are: Lokogoma, Apo, Kabusa, Guzape and Nepa Junction.
The maintenance, according to the statement, is slated from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm each day.
Ndidi added that the power supply would be restored on both days by 4 pm.
“TCN regrets the inconvenience this may cause electricity consumers in the affected areas,” the statement read in part.
