Two suspects one Mr. Manger and Terhemba Atagher have been arraigned before a Makurdi Upper Area Court for alleged conspiracy and theft of N4.6 million from a customer.
The prosecution told the court that on the 20th of December Mr Igbadoo Nyajo reported to the police that he went to First Bank, Gboko with his friend, Mr Joseph Tyokoo and withdrew the sum of N4,632,000 and kept same in his pick up van.
According to the complainant, on their way home, he passed to a repair shop belonging to the accused persons; saying he left the van with them to buy a recharge card.
However, on return, he discovered that the money was allegedly stolen by the accused persons.
During police investigation, the two accused were arrested for allegedly committing the offence.
Though, the accused persons pleaded not guilty to the charges. Thorough investigation has commenced into the case; The Explainer gathered that another date has been fixed for further hearing as investigation progresses.
Counsel for the accused persons, Barr. G.H. Aondoana, however, applied for the bail of his clients, saying they will not jump bail or tamper with police investigation.

Ruling, the Judge, Mr. Vershima Hwande granted bail to each of the accused persons to the sum of N100,000 and two sureties. The case has been adjourned to 20th February, 2023 for further mention.
