A cleric, Pastor Akeem Idoniboye, has said judging from the programmes and policies of successive administrations in Nigeria, it has become clear to say that most good men end up not being good leaders.
He also said that being incorruptible most times does not translate to having good leadership qualities.
Idoniboye, who is the lead pastor of the Glorious Destiny Family Church, Borokiri, Port Harcourt, stated this while preaching a sermon during the Sunday service.
The cleric: “To be a good man is not enough to be a good leader. To be incorruptible is not enough to be a good leader.”
He listed murmuring and spirit of heaviness as some of the things that disqualify people from grace of God, pointing out that discontentment can also cut one off the grace of God.
Idoniboye said: “You can be godly but if you are not content, there is no gain. Everytime people are discontent, they are not satisfied with life, they are not satisfied with God, they grumble everytime, there will be no gain. Discontentment will cut you off from the grace.
“If don’t celebrate what you have, what you are looking for you will not have. Anything you don’t thank for will reduce and the prove of thankfulness is contentment.
“Reckon that every job we are doing on earth will expire. The only job that will not expire is praise. The cheapest way to secure a place in a man’s life and heart is praise.
“Come to God not with achiever’s mentality but with a good heart. Never approach the presence of God without thanks in your heart.”
