The Kaduna State government has initiated a comprehensive tour of health facilities earmarked for renovation and upgrade across the three senatorial districts.
Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, the Deputy Governor, represented the state government during a thorough inspection of health facilities in Giwa and Ikara on Tuesday.
This move aligns with the Uba Sani administration’s commitment to enhancing the healthcare sector as part of the SUSTAIN agenda and improving healthcare services in the state.
The inspection aimed to assess facilities in need of upgrades and align actions with the state’s health investment priorities.
In a recent town hall meeting, the Governor reiterated the administration’s dedication to renovating, upgrading, and outfitting six secondary health facilities to meet global standards. Furthermore, it was announced that two General Hospitals from each senatorial zone would undergo significant upgrades to enhance healthcare delivery in the state.
The facilities scheduled for upgrades include General Hospitals such as Ikara and Maigama in Soba Local Government Area (situated in Zone One), General Hospital Rigasa in Igabi, and General Hospital Giwa (located in Zone Two). Additionally, General Hospital Kafanchan in Jema’a and General Hospital Gwantu in Sanga fall under Zone Three for revitalization.
Accompanying the Deputy Governor on the inspection tour were Commissioner of Health Ummah K Ahmed, Commissioner of Housing and Urban Development Aminu Abdullahi Shagali, as well as other government officials invested in the improvement of healthcare infrastructure in Kaduna State.
