A Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) under the auspices of Caleb Danladi Foundation, has distributed food items and textile Materials to over one thousand people in Jaba local government area of Kaduna state.
The items which worth millions of naira were distributed to widows, orphans and the less priveledge across Jaba local government.
While speaking to journalists in Southern Kaduna at the weekend, the founder of the NGO, Captain Caleb Danladi Bako, explained that the gesture was to complement government efforts in reducing the economic hardship faced by the people.
He added that the distribution of the items was to also provided succour to the beneficiaries and geared towards given them sense of belonging to celebrate the the Christmas and new year with ease.
In his words, ” I made it a duty to celebrate the Christmas every year with the downtrodden in Jaba local government area by supporting them financially and materially to carry them along and give them hope.
” The programme is a yearly event, and for this year, free medical services were also included, where people with different kind of illnesses were treated free.
“It is also important to note that the foundation has concluded arrangements to enroll retired clergies in Jaba local government area into Kaduna state health insurance scheme.”
On the ongoing construction of Dorcas Danladi memorial skill acquisition centre in Sambang Gida by the foundation, Bako said, the centre is expected to be completed and commissioned early next year, where women and youth would be trained on verious skills and graft.
In their seperate remarks, the Bishop, Anglican diocese of Kwoi, Rev. Paul Samuel Zamani and Rev. Galadima Auta Yakubu commended the founder of Caleb Danladi foundation for the show of love to the widows and orphans.
Meanwhile, the founder of the foundation expressed satisfaction with the turn out of people who grace the occasion, and described the presence of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, and the, jammaatul Nasir Islam JNI as a testimony of the peace and tranquility being enjoyed in Jaba local government area of the state.
