Nigerian music sensation Yemi Alade has launched a public confrontation against Cool FM Nigeria and CloudAfrica FM, alleging systematic blacklisting of her music catalog following a missed event performance in December 2023.
The 35-year-old singer-songwriter took to social media to publicly challenge the radio stations, expressing frustration over what she perceives as unprofessional treatment.
“Mr Serge and Mr Joseph, this life is not hard like that. WE SEE YOU… I SEE YOU @cloutafrica @CoolFMNigeria. This world is a small village. My God will fight for me… Una dey forms gatekeepers in 2024,” Alade tweeted.
According to Alade’s detailed account, the dispute originated when she failed to attend a Cool FM event in December 2023. Despite personally reaching out and apologizing in January, she claims the radio station maintained a retaliatory stance by completely removing her music from their playlist.
“Since December 2023. I personally reached out in January. You are still refusing to play my music and giving my team a hard time. You’re not gatekeepers, and you are not God, Mr Serge Noujaim and Mr Joseph Adamu,” she emphasized.
The artist criticized the radio station’s approach, arguing that their response was disproportionate to the initial misunderstanding.
“The common decency to reach out and clear out any misunderstanding borne out of sheer carelessness on your path for a whole year, and your next move is to place an embargo on my songs? Remove my whole catalogue,” Alade stated.

Her tweets highlighted what she perceives as an abuse of power by media gatekeepers.
“God will still give me food. You’re beefing an artiste for one full year over your event. I didn’t go, too. I apologised and even called your oga him dey form oga no even reply my text,” she added.
As of now, neither Cool FM nor CloudAfrica FM has publicly responded to Alade’s allegations.
