A MARRIED WOMAN, Fatima Dzuma brutally killed her husband, Baba Aliyu after disagreement ensued between the couples in Dzwafu village under Katcha Local Government Area of Niger State.
In the circulated video, the 27-year old housewife confessed that she hit her husband with a pestle multiple times before dragging her 25 -year-old husband out to a bush area in the village.
“When I entered the room, Baba was asleep. I hacked him with rope and I got him with a pestle three times. He didn’t die after bottling him with a pestle”. She narrated.
She confessed that disagreement ensued in the room before killing him. “I rolled him on Matt and dragged him out alone”, she said in the video when questioned.
In a statement sent to THE EXPLAINER, the police spokesman in the state, Wasiu Abiodun confirmed that the suspect is now in their custody, stating that the deceased husband had beaten his wife overnight before killing him.
His statement partly reads, “On 31/12/2024 at about 6am, a suspected lifeless body of one Baba Aliyu 25yrs of Lafiagi Dzwafu village via Katcha was found in a nearby bush”.
“Police operatives of Katcha Div moved to the scene and preliminary investigation revealed that the victim’s wife one Fatima Dzuma 27yrs narrated that there was an altercation between them over the night and she was beaten by her husband”.
“As a result, after a while when the husband was asleep, she used a pestle to hit him on the head which led to his death. She later tied the deceased with clothes and rope and rolled the corpse to a nearby bush with a mat”
Abiodun further stated that the deceased corpse was taken to Bida General hospital for post mortem, adding that the suspect is now in their custody. “She would soon be transferred to SCID Minna for further investigation and prosecution”.
