President Bola Tinubu expressed unwavering determination to reshape the future of Nigeria for the betterment of its citizens during a press briefing following the conclusion of the Umrah rituals on Sunday. The President emphasized his administration’s resolve to change the national narrative through comprehensive reforms, inclusive programs, and progressive policies aimed at ultimately benefiting all Nigerians.
“The potential of our great nation is yet to fully blossom to the level we desire. It will require hard work and steadfast prayers from each and every one of us. We are fully committed to utilizing our strengths to unlock this potential, ensuring the welfare of all Nigerians,” stated President Tinubu.
He further emphasized the significance of collective prayers and thanked God for His guidance, blessings, and the answers to prayers, both personally and on behalf of the nation. President Tinubu expressed gratitude at every opportunity for the blessings received, recognizing their positive impact on his personal journey and the country’s progress.
During his stay in Makkah, President Tinubu was hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and accompanied by a distinguished cleric from the King’s palace for the Tawaf, the ritual circumambulation of the Kaaba. Sheikh Dakilullah Al-Makky, the assigned cleric, and Sheik Abdulwahab Suleiman, the Imam of State House Mosque, led prayers at the conclusion of the extensive two-hour-long rituals.
The Umrah, a lesser pilgrimage of utmost importance to Muslims, can be undertaken at any time during the year, while the Hajj, a more elaborate pilgrimage, takes place during the designated month on the Islamic calendar.
In a display of unity and solidarity, Governors from Bauchi, Niger, and Katsina states, alongside the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, the NNPCL Group Chief Executive Officer, and several other prominent government officials, joined President Tinubu in performing the sacred rituals.
President Tinubu’s visit to Saudi Arabia coincided with the Saudi-Africa summit, which witnessed the participation of African leaders and eminent members of the business community from both countries. This summit aims to foster closer ties and explore avenues of collaboration between Saudi Arabia and African nations.
