A LOCAL GROUP of vigilantes freed two kidnapped victims in Na’alma of Malumfashi local area of Katsina when they engaged in a fierce gun battle on Friday night.
According to Makama Zagalola, a security analyst and expert based in Lake Chad who tweeted the report said bandits were overpowered by the vigilantes and forced to abandon the captives.

“The bandits, who had earlier abducted the victims, were overpowered by the vigilantes and forced to abandon both their captives and two motorcycles before fleeing in disarray”.
“Witnesses reported that the bandits, overwhelmed by the unexpected resistance, left behind their footwear and other belongings as they escaped”

“Residents of Na’alma have praised the bravery of the vigilantes, calling for increased support to local security groups combating criminal elements in rural communities”, he tweeted.
