The Senate has given its approval to 45 individuals as minister-designate, following an extensive screening process. However, the confirmation of former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir el-Rufai (Kaduna), Sani Abubakar Danladi (Taraba), and Stella Okotette (Delta) has been temporarily deferred as they undergo additional security checks.

The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, expressed gratitude for the Senate’s efforts in confirming 45 out of the 48 nominees put forth by President. Akpabio mentioned that the remaining nominees are undergoing security clearance and emphasized that their status is pending. Senate Spokesman Yemi Adaramodu conveyed that out of the 48 nominees, 45 have received confirmation, while the status of the remaining three nominees hinges on further legislative procedures and coordination with other governmental bodies. The FCT nominee was also highlighted as a response to popular demand from the people of the Federal Capital Territory.
