A TWENTY-FIVE-year-old young man, Aron Hassan has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command on suspicion of stealing over N500,000 worth of electrical wires from the Igbesa village in the Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The Explainer noted that the suspect was arrested at his place of employment on February 11, 2025, while cutting the cable wires.
State Police Command spokesperson Omolola Odutola confirmed the arrest on Wednesday, saying the suspect did not refute the accusations and will be charged in court.
“On February 12, 2025, at approximately 9:30 am, Yakubu Mohammad, the Chief Security Officer (CSO) of Quantum Company, Igbesa, reported a theft incident at our station. According to Mohammad, on February 11, 2025, around 11:00 am, security personnel caught Aron Hassan, a 25-year-old casual staff member, cutting cable wires valued at ₦500,000.

“Upon interrogation, Hassan failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for his actions. We documented the case and referred it to the District Criminal Bureau (DCB). Statements from both parties were recorded, and Mohammad noted that Hassan did not deny the allegations, our team visited the scene of the crime, took photographs, and will be charging Hassan in court.”
