The Chief Registrar of the State High Court, Ishola Omisade, has attended a hearing before the House of Assembly Committee on Judiciary to address allegations against the embattled Chief Judge. Accompanied by several magistrates, he faced the committee’s probe into the allegations on Tuesday.
Additionally, approximately 12 staff members from the high court’s Affidavit Office and Salary Section were spotted at the Assembly. Meanwhile, the protest led by the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) against Osun State Chief Judge, Justice Oyebola Adepele Ojo, continued for a second consecutive day.
Gbenga Eludire, Chairman of JUSUN in Osun State, shared that the union is scheduled to meet with some judges on Wednesday. He expressed optimism that the meeting would address and potentially fulfill some of the group’s demands.

While the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker of the Osun Assembly, Tiamiyu Olamide, refrained from commenting on the matter, he expressed that the committee was diligently working to complete the investigation within the given timeframe set by the House of Assembly.
In a separate development, the dissolved members of the Osun State Judicial Service Commission alleged that the state governor, Ademola Adeleke, dismissed them to pave the way for the removal of the Chief Judge. Rotimi Makinde and Tomi Olagbaju, speaking on behalf of the group, criticized their premature removal as an act of executive recklessness.
The dissolved commission members contended that the governor’s decision stemmed from their loyalty to due process, as they found no incriminating evidence against the Chief Judge. They also raised concerns about the government’s authority to investigate and penalize a Chief Judge, asserting that such powers reside with the National Judicial Council.
Responding to this, the Osun State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, urged the dissolved commission members to await the outcome of their court case, as they had already approached the court for redress.
