Former Kaduna Senator Shehu Sani claims that recent visits by prominent northern politicians to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari are plots to unseat President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
Sani argues that these visits, disguised as Sallah homage, are strategic moves to resurrect Buhari’s political influence and challenge Tinubu.

Prominent figures like former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and ex-Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai recently visited Buhari in Daura, Katsina State.
Sani believes these actions aim to mobilize support and build a strong northern alliance for the next election.
Sani warns that such attempts will fail, urging northerners to reject these politicians and their plans.
He emphasizes that Buhari’s tenure left the North in worse conditions, with increased poverty and insecurity.
Sani criticizes the northern elite’s obsession with power and their dangerous political maneuvers.
According to Sani, the South never plotted against Buhari during his eight-year reign, which was marked by nepotism and economic mismanagement.
He calls for northern people to reject these familiar faces and their futile projects, highlighting the failures of past initiatives like the Baro Port and Mambilla hydropower projects.
“The recent visits by some prominent Northern politicians to Daura appear to be the usual Eid homage, but… it’s a regrouping of Northern political forces for the next general election.”
