The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and it’s counterpart of Benin Republic have entered into an agreement to open One- Single Border-Point at Segbana/ Tsamiya Border in order to enhance and as well as ease business activities of the two countries.
At the signing of the agreement yesterday at Sebgana Border in Benin Republic, Controller of the Nigeria Customs Service(NCS) in Kebbi State, ( Nigeria),Mr Iheanacho Ernest Ojike said the two countries agreed to workout modalities aimed at having single border point that will enhance as well as ease business activities of the countries.
According to the Controller, the long – awaited dream of establishing this single- border post is actualized, Socio-economic challenges in these two countries will becomes a forgotten narrative.
After signing the agreement, the two countries agreed to establish an internationally registered one- stop border post.
In their separate remarks, a businessman and member of Segbana/Tsamiya border committee, Nasiru Dan Musa Jega represented by Abdulrahman Muhammad Manga and Idris Shu’aibu Bagudo revealed that the border opening would boost economic activities of the two countries in particular Kebbi State.
They commended both Federal and State Governments for initiating the action and bring succour and livelihood to the people of the two countries.
They noted that the road construction, security and logistics took center stage at the meeting, which signalled the readiness of the APC led administration under President Bola Tinubu to bringing succour to the lives of the common man.
