The much-anticipated autopsy results for the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, are expected to be released in about four weeks, according to Dr. Richard Somiari, the Director of Lagos State DNA and Forensic Centre.Â
The announcement came during a coroner’s inquest held on Wednesday at the Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court.
The inquest, prompted by the controversies surrounding the singer’s death on September 12, 2023, seeks to uncover the truth behind the tragic event.
“We are looking into multiple possibilities, including poison, since no clear cause of death was mentioned,” Dr. Somiari stated to Magistrate Adedayo Shotobi.
Reassuring the public, Somiari said; “We have secured storage for the samples and a strict procedure for monitoring them, even if they are sent abroad.”
Eyewitness Sadiq Ayobami, also known as Spendy, recalled seeing Mohbad the day before his untimely death. They had attended a concert together in Ikorodu before parting ways.
Amidst the legal proceedings, Abiodun Kolawole, representing the African Women Lawyers Association, urged the bereaved family to pursue legal avenues for resolving disputes over the paternity of Mohbad’s child, rather than turning to social media.
The case has been adjourned to April 15, with all parties expected to attend.Â
As the inquest adjourns until April 15, the eyes of the fans remain fixed on the court, awaiting answers that could bring closure to the controversies over the cause of the singer’s death.
