Nasarawa State governorship candidate on the platform of Labour Party, Joseph Ewuga, has condemned the abduction of pupils of LGEA primary school, Alwaza, Doma Local Government Area of of the State.
Unknown gunmen had on Friday stormed Local Government Education Authority (LGEA), primary school Alwaza in Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State and abducted scores of school pupils in the area.
The abductors who whisked away six primary school pupils were said to have laid siege around the school.
The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO Nasarawa state command, DSP Rahman Nansel confirmed the incident.
Though, two of the abducted pupils were later rescued by the police on Saturday afternoon according to the PPRO.
Reacting to the incident on Saturday in Lafia, Ewuga called for full scale investigation into the issue towards finding lasting solutions.
The governorship candidate said his team was alarmed by the trend in the state where kidnapping of vulnerable citizens for ransom has turned into lucrative business.
He said the LP was saddened by the increased acts of terrorism in the state.
