Campaigners Against Misinformation and Disinformation, a local Liberian non-profit organization, recently launched a media literacy campaign in Monrovia schools, conducting an awareness program at Len Miller High School and William V.S. Tubman School.
According to a statement released on Saturday, the initiative coincided with the 2024 Global Media and Information Literacy Week held annually from October 24th to 31st, drew over 150 12th-grade students.
The Explainer learned the program aligns with the organization’s ongoing mission to combat misinformation and disinformation in Liberia.
As part of this global observance, UNESCO co-hosts an international conference, convening stakeholders worldwide to strategize and promote media literacy advancements.
Through this effort, Campaigners Against Misinformation and Disinformation seeks to empower Liberian youth with critical thinking skills to navigate the complex media landscape effectively.
