The Executive Chairman, Kaduna Internal Revenue Service, Jerry Adams, has disclosed that the yearly event of the League of Extraordinary Achievers Award (LEAA) has contributed to the economic growth of Kaduna state in the last few years.
The Kaduna IRS boss averred that the yearly awards event has become a powerful tool to shape behaviors, foster engagement, and drive long-term motivation, especially among the business men and women in the state.
Adams asserted this during the 4th edition of the LEAA awards in Kaduna yesterday, where he further disclosed that the event has created a room for competition and innovation, especially among the small scale business owners.
“For instance, the emerging entrepreneur of the year award, such kind of awards would definitely put other entrepreneurs on their toes to want to do more and by so doing, it will have impact on the economic of the state,” the Kaduna IRS boss emphasised.
Adams further said: “most of the awardees are deserving, and this shows that Kaduna state is not what it’s being painted out in terms of insecurity, and this is an indicator that Kaduna state is stable.
” And this is the reason why Kaduna state topped in terms of revenue generated, the state is large enough to accommodate good initiatives and ideas.”
One of the awardees, Patience Madlion described the award as a challenge that would spur her to do more by contributing her quarter to the economic development of the nation.
Mrs. Madlion who is a farm and an agric consultant called on women to take time to develop their talent, and to always remember that they are valued.
Meanwhile, the organiser of the LEAA awards, Adekunle Adeyemi, disclosed that the event aimed at encouraging people who have done well in their endeavours.
” Since the inception, the programme has in one way or the other impacted on the economy of the state as its serves as a morale booster business owners in Kaduna state,” Adeyemi said.
