THE EMBATTLED CORPS member and Tiktoker Ushie Uguamaye also known as Raye, has made a video apologising for stating that Lagos is smelling.
The Tiktoker said in a video explaining economic hardship faced by Nigerians under President Bola Tinubu.
The video generated reactions from many Nigerians, with some supporting her stance while others stated that her words contravened the Bye Laws of the NYSC.
In a new post, Raye expressed surprise that the challenge didn’t even go beyond Day 2 before she got more than the attention she was hoping for.
The corps member has now tendered an apology to those offended by the statement she made about Lagos, saying she didn’t mean to talk down on the state.
She wrote, “I want to first of all state that I am sorry to the people who were born and raised in Lagos State if you feel offended by what I said. I am sorry.

“But as a visitor here, I could tell there was a difference in the atmosphere and quality of air here. If the way that I put it triggered your emotions and the love for your birth state, I am sorry. I didn’t mean to talk down on your birth state.”
The Lagos State Government reacted over her “Lagos is smelling” that those who hold such view are actually those who moved in and put pressure on the infrastructure.
However, the corps member was summoned to appear before the NYSC Local Government Inspectors concerning her 30-day rant challenge.
However, when she arrived at their office on Monday, accompanied by three lawyers and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore, the LGIs were reportedly nowhere to be found.
