The Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu has promised to upgrade the state’s own media organisations with state-of-art facilities to effectively discharge their statutory responsibilities. He made the disclosure while on inspection tour of projects across the state on Monday.
During the inspection tour, the governor visited road projects, vocational schools, veterinary hospital, Kebbi Television and Kebbi Radio.
Speaking at the two stations, the Governor Idris said both stations would be digitised to compete favourably with other stations not only in Nigeria but across the globe. The governor described both TV and Ration Stations as platforms for entertainment, education, enlightenment and information dissemination, hence the need to equip same to function well and serve the people of Kebbi better.
He also assured that his administration would do everything possible to settle all outstanding payments to Nigeria Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) as well as other regulatory bodies for smooth operations.
