SUSPECTED BANDITS WERE arrested by operatives of Kano State Police Command, including the recovery of a dangerous cache of weapons, cash and a vigilante group identity card.
The suspects’ names are Shukurana Salihu, 25, Rabi’u Dahiru, 35 and Ya’u Idris, 30. They all hail from Katsina State, while Muktar Sani hails from Yandodo Hotoro Quarters, Kano State
According to Makama Zagalola, a security analyst and counterinsurgency expert based in Lake Chad, tweeted on his Verified X account that three police conducted a targeted operation on March 6, 2025, at approximately 1600 hours.
His statement partly reads, “The sources said that the Operation led by the Officer-in-Charge of Jarkuka Outpost, Mariri Division, resulted in the arrest of the following suspects: Shukurana Salihu, 25, from Katsina State, Rabi’u Dahiru, 35, from Katsina State, Ya’u Idris, 30, from Katsina State and Muktar Sani, from Yandodo Hotoro Quarters, Kano State”.
“The suspects were found in possession of: Three locally made revolver pistols, two cutlasses, twelve live ammunition of various calibres, three cartridges, four knives, four mobile phones, twenty-four pellets and a vigilante group identity card.

“The sources explained that the Command has intensified its efforts to combat criminal activities in the region, noting that in a related development, the Command recently arrested three suspected car thieves and recovered two stolen vehicles.
According to the sources, Investigations are ongoing, and the suspects will be charged to court upon completion.
