Kaduna State Governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Hon. Isa Muhammad Ashiru has promised to bring back the Bureau for religious affairs in the State if elected Governor in 2023.
This is even as he also assured of returning religious studies to public schools in Kaduna State.
The guber hopeful have the assurance in separate meetings he had with the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and Muslim clerics in Kaduna.
He said, Kaduna State under the present administration has caused alot of religious divide among it’s citizens which he averred is unhealthy for religious coexistence.
Hon. Ashiru said, under his leadership every religious groups will be given their right positions in governance and all will be a major player in decision making that will help uplift the state.
” I am worried with the sharp divide on religious grounds which this administration has championed, the PDP government under my leadership will return the Bureau for religious affairs and study of religious studies in our public schools.
“Kaduna State under the PDP government from 1999- 2015 enjoyed religious harmony, but sadly today, that is not the case, we must all be committed to returning the state to the good old days where a Christian sees a Muslim as brother and vise versa” he stressed.
Hon. Ashiru also assured that all those who are unjustly dismissed, retired or suffered from nwhat he described as anti people policies of the present administion will have their issues looked into fairly and justly.
