Queen Dami, the former wife of the late Alaafin of Oyo, Lamidi Adeyemi, has publicly announced the termination of her two-year relationship with controversial musician Portable, bringing an end to a tumultuous romantic partnership that began in August 2023.
The dramatic breakup unfolded during a live Instagram session that quickly escalated into a public confrontation. Portable initially criticized Queen Dami for being online, telling her, “What are you doing online? You are someone’s wife and should not be doing nonsense.”
Following the heated exchange, Queen Dami took to social media to declare the relationship over, writing, “Alihamdulihaji, I’m done. This is too much for me; I can’t take this embarrassment. Ire oo.”
Portable responded with a scathing video, making multiple allegations about their relationship.
“I dated you for two years, and she claimed that she lost four or five pregnancies,” he said.
The musician claimed he initially took her in out of respect for the late king, providing her with an apartment and a shop.
Queen Dami vehemently disputed Portable’s narrative.
“I didn’t come to you; you were the one who slid into my DM. I knew you as a mad musician,” she declared.
She accused Portable of physical abuse, stating, “He is constantly beating me. I have bruises all over my body.”
The queen emphasized that their relationship was never formally recognized, saying, “You haven’t married me. You made me a kept woman. Do you know my family members? Have you wedded me with a ring?”
Portable’s allegations became increasingly personal, claiming Queen Dami was a “prostitute” and suggesting she had nefarious intentions. Queen Dami strongly rejected these claims, focusing on her business and personal dignity.
Her journey to this point has been marked by personal challenges. In November 2020, she had previously made headlines by fleeing the Alaafin’s palace, only to return and apologize almost a year later. She was the third Olori (queen) to leave the marriage.
Following her husband’s death, Queen Dami had found companionship with Portable, a father of eight who is reportedly married to multiple women. However, this relationship has now publicly disintegrated amid mutual recriminations.
The 27-year-old mother-of-one, who had previously sought love during a reality show, has now decisively ended her relationship with the self-proclaimed street king.
