AN OFFICIAL OF the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), identified only as Remedy Yange, has been found dead on a street in Lagos State.
The victim was shown lying motionless on the road in burgundy traditional clothing in a widely shared viral video.
Two police officers and other bystanders were drawn to the scene and searched a little bag he was carrying to identify him.

An identity card retrieved from his belongings confirmed that the deceased was an EFCC official.
Voices in the background of the video, including that of a police officer, could be heard saying, “Where e dey work, nah EFCC. His ID card dey there.”
While the circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear, the EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, confirmed that investigations are ongoing.
“The death is being investigated,” Oyewale said.
This incident occurred just two weeks after another EFCC officer, Aminu Salisu, was fatally shot by a suspected fraudster, Joshua Chukwubueze Ikechukwu.
The tragic loss of Sylvanus has raised further questions about the safety of EFCC operatives, particularly in the line of duty.
Attempts by The Explainer to reach the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Olanrewaju Ishola, and the PPRO, Benjamin Hundeyin, for comment were unsuccessful.
