The Nigeria Police Force has apprehended a “fake journalist” who claimed to be a staff member of a leading Nigerian television station during Saturday’s governorship election in Edo State .
According to the police, operatives also arrested two key PDP members, Emotingham Godspower (25) and Farawei Isaac (27), from Ufunama community, Ovia Southwest Local Government Area, Edo State, in a comprehensive operation .
Force Public Relations Officer Olumuyiwa Adejobi disclosed this in a statement released to Channels Television .
The suspects, linked to a larger network involving “Atiku” and kingpin “the boss,” were apprehended at an Ekpoma guest house, where substantial cash and incriminating items were recovered .
Recovered items include: voters’ List: A list of voters’ names with corresponding monetary values, ballot Papers: , collection of pre-filled ballot papers, fake IDs: A set of fake identification cards ¹
Adejobi also announced the arrest of six additional suspects – Suleiman Abdurahim, Fatima Yakubu, Yusuf Aminat (52), Salihu Lukman (54), and Safianu Saratu (32) – at Aibotse Secondary School, beside Meremu hotel, Auchi, for vote buying .
