The All Progressives Congress (APC) has reaffirmed Monday Okpebholo as its candidate for the Edo State governorship election held today, dismissing circulating rumors of his disqualification by a magistrate court.
Felix Morka, APC National Publicity Secretary, issued a statement in Abuja addressing the situation.
“On the eve of the Edo gubernatorial election, certain political parties have resorted to forgery and disinformation regarding our candidate,” Morka stated.
The APC spokesperson condemned the circulation of a fake magistrate court ruling as “a fabrication and desperate attempt to subvert the will of the Edo electorate.”
He revealed that the magistrate in question had disclaimed the ruling, confirming it was not issued by him.
Morka characterized the false ruling as “a blatant and calculated attempt to subvert the will of the Edo electorate.”
He called on law enforcement agencies to “identify, investigate and bring the perpetrators of this falsehood to book.”

The APC urged Edo voters to remain vigilant and resolute in exercising their democratic rights at the polls.
Morka said, “We call on our law enforcement agencies to identify, investigate and bring the perpetrators of this falsehood to book.”
“Sen. Monday Okpebholo is and remains the standard bearer of the APC in the Edo gubernatorial election,” he added.
