Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has instructed the management of the Kaduna State University (KASU) to stop the collection of levies. The order is part of the government’s decision to reduce the financial burden on students after the removal of petroleum subsidies in 2023.
In a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Muhammad Shehu on Monday, February 12, emphasised the government’s commitment to alleviating the hardships faced by the people.
It added that Sani’s administration will continue to initiate policies, programmes and projects “to bring succour to the poor, underserved and the vulnerable.”
“It shall continue to take all necessary measures to ensure access to free and qualitative education for every citizen in Kaduna State from primary to tertiary level,” the statement noted.
