The Board of Immigration, Civil Defence, Fire, and Correctional Services has granted approval for the promotion of 32,361 personnel across the four services. Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, announced the details of the promotions through NSCDC Commandant General, Dr Ahmed Audi, on Friday in Abuja.
Out of the total number promoted, 4,498 were personnel from the Nigerian Correctional Service, who successfully passed the promotion examination out of the 7,000 wardens who participated. Furthermore, 4,598 immigration officers were promoted out of 6,544 who took the examination, while 1,680 out of 1,698 fire service personnel were also elevated following the promotion examinations.
The majority of promotions were seen in the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), with 21,385 successful candidates out of the 25,951 who participated in the examinations.
The Minister, Tunji-Ojo urged the beneficiaries to view this promotion as an opportunity to further dedicate themselves to the service of the nation.
“Promotions come with enormous responsibilities, and to whom much is given, much is expected,” added the minister, emphasizing the vital role these personnel play in safeguarding and protecting the nation.
