Adele, the award-winning British singer, announced her engagement during her concert in Munich, Germany. In a now-viral video, the 36-year-old was in the middle of her performance when she spotted a fan carrying a sign reading, “Will you marry me?” She took a break to read the message out loud before turning down the fan’s proposal.
The “Set Fire to the Rain” hitmaker explained that she couldn’t marry the fan because she was “already getting married.” “I can’t marry you because I’m already getting married, so I can’t, but I appreciate it, thank you,” she said.
Her announcement elicited screams of excitement among the concertgoers. Although she didn’t reveal her partner’s name, many speculated that it is Rich Paul, her longtime boyfriend. Adele has been in a relationship with Paul, a US sports agent, since 2021, but only confirmed it in a 2022 interview.
Paul is the founder of Klutch Sports Group, which has represented high-profile basketball stars, including LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and John Wall.
Adele was formerly married to Simon Konecki but filed for divorce in 2019, stating that they would remain committed to raising their son together. Their divorce was finalized in March 2021.
Adele is considered one of the greatest British singers of all time. She is the best-selling female artist of the 21st century in the UK, having earned several awards for her craft, including 16 Grammy Awards, 12 Brit Awards, an Oscar, a Primetime Emmy, and a Golden Globe.
