A helicopter owned by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has crashed in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Confirming the incident on Friday, December 1, NAF Spokesman Edward Gabkwet said all occupants on the helicopter survived the crash “with minor injuries”.
He added that the injured crew members have been taken to the Port Harcourt NAF Medical Centre for treatment.
Gabkwet said “The unfortunate event occurred at precisely 7:45 a.m. shortly after the helicopter, identified as NAF MI-35P, had taken off for an operation targeting economic saboteurs in Rivers State”.
He noted that investigation into the crash is expected and “that precautionary measures will be taken to prevent similar occurrences in the future”.
