Explainer fact checkers have spotted a post making the round on social media with a claim that Nigeria’s former President, Olusegun Obasanjo flew in a world class Russian lawyer, Natalia Veslnitskaya to help Presidential candidate of the Labour Party at the 2023 election, Peter Obi with his case at the election tribunal. The claim in the post read “Breaking News; Obasanjo flies in world class Russian lawyer to defend Peter Obi ahead of Monday’s presidential court case. According to reports, she is the most dangerous lawyer in the whole world with an unbeatable record, it added that Natalia Veselnitskaya is a close associate of Russian president, Vladimir Putin. She has never lost a case before. She is the special adviser to president “Putin” and was the same lawyer woman that defeated America in a court case against heavy sanctions on Russia.
