Nigeria’s Afroabeats sensation, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, popularly known by his stage name Wizkid, has promised his fans in Lagos that they would no longer have to pay to watch him perform, moving forward.
The multiple award-winning singer made this promise yesterday as he thrilled fans with top-notch performance during his Christmas eve Starboy Live Feat Wizkid Lagos Concert, at the Eko Convention Centre. He explained that it would be unfair for his fans in Nigeria to pay to watch him perform.

Wizkid had earlier shared a flyer for his “Vibes on the Beach with Big Wiz” show on his Instagram story, set to hold in Lagos on December 30, 2022. He had said that the performance was going to be his last in Lagos, a statement that caused surprise and disbelief.
The “Holla at Ya Boy” crooner said he decided to complete the statement as he was quoted out of context.
He said, “When I said this is going to be the last show in Lagos, what I really meant was; with the kind of love you guys have shown me, it would be very unfair for me to do shows around the world and come back and still make you guys pay to watch me perform.
“I want to make a promise tonight: this is the last time you’re ever going to pay to come to a Wizkid show.”
The show had electrifying performances from Nigerian musicians like Wande Coal, BNXN (formerly known as Buju), as well as Young Jonn.
