The Chippa United star announced the heartbreaking news on New Year’s Day through his official X account, writing: “RIP mom, worst year of my life already.”
The dual tragedy marks an incredibly painful period for the 26-year-old, who lost his father in November 2024 while representing Nigeria in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers. Despite his grief, Nwabali showed extraordinary professionalism by playing in a critical match against Benin before being granted leave to mourn.
