The CDD War Room has conducted a fact check on a claim circulating on social media regarding statements made by Emperor Jarrett Tenebe, the Edo State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The claim suggested that Tenebe said Edo residents could no longer afford electricity to watch national news stations, specifically Arise News.
In the Arise News interview, Tenebe was responding to allegations that the APC’s gubernatorial candidate, Monday Opkebholo, was avoiding media interviews.
Tenebe’s actual statement focused on the economic conditions in Edo State under Governor Godwin Obaseki’s administration.
He argued that the economic situation had deteriorated, making cable TV subscriptions unaffordable for many residents, including himself.
