Big Brother Naija Season 9, dubbed the ‘No Loose Guard’ season, has bid farewell to another pair of housemates. Zinwe, comprising Zion and Chinwe, became the fifth pair to be evicted from the popular reality TV show.
The eviction process took a new turn last week when Big Brother scrapped the custodian challenge, which previously gave the custodians of the week power to save or evict nominated housemates.
This change shifted the eviction power solely to the viewers.
During Monday’s nomination show, five pairs were put up for possible eviction: Zinwe, Chekas, Doubleday, Beta, and WanniXHandi. Notably, Zinwe received five nominations from fellow housemates, marking the highest number of nominations in the season so far.
Host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu announced Zinwe’s eviction on stage, revealing that they had received the lowest percentage of viewer votes among the bottom three nominated pairs.
The voting results showed Chekas with 17.34%, Beta with 14.04%, and Zinwe with the lowest percentage, leading to their exit from the house.
This eviction leaves nine pairs in the competition, all vying for the grand prize of N100 million.
The winner will be determined by viewers’ votes and support throughout the remainder of the season.

The ninth season of Big Brother Naija kicked off on July 27, 2024, introducing 28 housemates paired into 14 teams. The show is set to run for 71 days, with the finale scheduled for October 6, 2024.
As the competition intensifies, the remaining housemates will need to step up their game to win the hearts of viewers and secure their place in the house.
With the custodian challenge eliminated, each pair’s fate now rests entirely in the hands of the voting public, adding an extra layer of unpredictability to the already dramatic reality show.
