The Rotary Clubs in Kaduna performed the groundbreaking ceremony for a Peace Centre at the Federal Neuro Psychiatric Hospital in Barnawa, Kaduna, on Wednesday.
The project is a partnership between the Rotary Clubs and the hospital, as outlined in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The Rotary Clubs, comprising Club of Barnawa, Kaduna Gold, Kaduna Queens, Kawo, Kaduna, Kakuri, Gonin-Gora, Kaduna-Metropolitan, and Samaru-Zaria, stated that the Centre will provide opportunities for people to improve their mental health when stressed.
During the ceremony, Medical Director Dr. Aishatu Usheu Armiya’u (represented by Head of Clinical Services Dr. Nafisatu Hayyatudeen) praised the Rotary Clubs for their partnership.
She assured them of the hospital’s readiness for further collaborations and thanked them for their support.
In separate remarks, Zonal Coordinator Rotarian Florence Gbande and Assistant Zonal Coordinator Rotarian Victor Majekodunmi described the relationship with the hospital as cordial and expressed hopes for improvement. T
hey explained that the Centre will promote calmness, stability, and better mental health by reducing stress levels.
