Peter Okoye, better known as Mr P, has publicly criticized his twin brother Paul Okoye, aka RudeBoy, in an open letter. The former P-Square member accused Paul of repeatedly undermining his contributions to their once-successful musical duo.
Peter shared the emotionally charged letter on his Instagram page, addressing longstanding tensions between the brothers.
“My dear brother Paul, Just like I have told you several times, I am not in any competition with you or anybody else,” Peter wrote.
He went on to express frustration over Paul’s recent interviews, stating, “You claimed that you wrote and sang 99% of all P-SQUARE songs and discredited me by saying that our song with TI ‘EjeaJo,’ which I wrote, was a failure.”
The letter highlighted several hit songs Peter claims to have contributed to, including “Get-Squared,” “Bizzy Body,” and “Personally.”
He questioned whether these tracks were also considered failures, emphasizing the collaborative nature of their past success.
Music industry expert John Doe commented on the situation: “This public dispute reveals deep-seated issues that have plagued P-Square for years. It’s unfortunate to see such talented artists unable to reconcile their differences.”
Peter also addressed the duo’s current standing in the music industry as solo artists.
“Is Rudeboy or Mr P bigger and more successful than P-SQUARE today? Are we individually selling out arenas and stadiums like P-SQUARE used to?” he asked rhetorically.
The twins, who began their music career in 1999, dominated the African music scene before their initial split in 2017. Despite a brief reconciliation in 2021, which included a joint performance in Sierra Leone, recent events suggest the rift between them remains unresolved.
Paul Okoye’s recent statement that “P-Square is no more” has only fueled speculation about the duo’s future.
