Authorities deployed tear gas to disperse demonstrators gathered at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja on Saturday.
The stadium, designated as the official protest venue in the nation’s capital, saw a smaller turnout compared to previous days.
Protesters had assembled at the facility to continue voicing their demands when law enforcement officers fired tear gas canisters, forcing the crowd to disperse. This action follows a similar incident on Friday when tear gas was used against demonstrators at the Berger roundabout area of the Federal Capital Territory.
A court order had previously restricted the #EndBadGovernance protesters from using areas outside the stadium for their gatherings. Despite the setback in Abuja, rallies persist in other parts of the country, albeit with reduced numbers. Cities such as Lagos, Benin City in Edo State, and Port Harcourt in Rivers State continue to witness ongoing protests.
