The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has dismissed rumours that it has adjusted the pump prices of premium motor spirit (PMS) and Automotive Gas Oil (diesel).
In a statement released on Wednesday, Olufemi Soneye, the Chief Communications Officer of NNPCL, urged Nigerians to disregard the rumours.
The Explainer gathered that some posts on various social media platforms on Tuesday and Wednesday claimed that the NNPCL had reduced the pump price of petrol below N600, while that of diesel was adjusted below N900.
The statement reads; “The NNPC Limited wishes to clarify rumours suggesting a price adjustment for Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and Automotive Gas Oil (Diesel) at its official stations nationwide.
“The company asserts that these reports are false and urges Nigerians to disregard them entirely.
“NNPC Ltd. reaffirms its commitment to sustaining the current sufficiency in petroleum products supply across all its retail stations in the country.”
“The company remains committed to its mission of ensuring a steady and sufficient supply of petroleum products across the country.”
