The Kaduna State Government has refuted rumors suggesting the relaxation of the 24-hour curfew imposed on the state. Officials have urged citizens to disregard such speculation, emphasizing that the Security Council has not amended the round-the-clock restriction.
Samuel Aruwan, Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, released a statement on Wednesday, confirming that the curfew remains fully in force in Kaduna and Zaria towns and surrounding areas.
“The 24-hour curfew remains in place and is being actively enforced by security agencies, contrary to insinuations that it has been reviewed,” Aruwan stated.
The commissioner urged residents to strictly adhere to the curfew and avoid spreading unverified information. He added, “Reliable and accurate updates will be duly communicated to the public through official channels.”
This announcement comes amid circulating rumors about a potential easing of restrictions. The government’s swift response aims to maintain order and ensure public safety during this period of heightened security measures.
Residents are advised to stay informed through official government communications and to comply with the ongoing curfew regulations until further notice.
