The former governor of Taraba state, Rev. Jolly T. Nyame in a homecoming reception organised by the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, states that he holds no grudges against his foes who lead to his incarceration.
The reception which was held at the Jolly Nyame stadium, witnessed a mammoth crowd who cheered his arrival in the state after 4 years in detention.
According to him, he said “I want to tell the Tarabans that I’m back. And I appreciate the President and the council of state for me to regain my freedom. My absence for over 4 yrs has a divine purpose. I now understand what the local people are passing through. I now know which part to take. I want to be a pathfinder. I hold no grudges against anyone who wanted to see my downfall. I’ve forgotten and forgiven everyone, it’s a lesson”.
The reception was graced by dignitaries like Emmanuel Bwacha, the APC flag bearer, Danladi Baido, SDP flag bearer, the speaker of Taraba state house of Assembly and various stakeholders.
As the crowd waited to hear which political parties and candidates he will ask the people to vote for, he assured them that by December this year, he will reveal his choice to the people.
The governor highly represented by the speaker Taraba state house of assembly, Prof. Joseph Albasu Kunini in his remark assert that “Indeed, serving jail term is hard on a person’s family, but it is even harder and painful for the person jailed; in fact, there is nothing harder to deal with than incarceration and loss of freedom.
” AS a Christian and a clergy for that matter, let go of the past and forgive all those, who in one way or the other, are responsible for your incarceration,” he said.
