The remains of former Chief of Army Staff, Taoreed Lagbaja, arrived at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at 12:16 p.m., in preparation for his final burial on Friday.
Lagbaja’s body was received with military honors, setting the stage for a dignified farewell.
The funeral services will begin on Thursday with a Service of Songs at the Army Headquarters Garrison Parade Ground, Mogadishu Cantonment Abuja.
“As a mark of respect, I have directed personnel to wear a black band for seven days,” said the Inspector General of Police, paying tribute to the late COAS.
The funeral service will take place on Friday at the National Christian Centre, followed by interment at the military cemetery in the afternoon.
The Explainer reported, Lagbaja passed away on November 5 in Lagos after a brief illness, according to an official statement.
