Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in its petrol price to N899.50 per litre, marking its second price cut since November as part of efforts to ease transportation costs during the festive season.
Anthony Chiejina, spokesman for the 650,000 barrels per day capacity refinery, announced the price reduction in a statement released ahead of the Christmas and New Year celebrations. This latest decrease follows the company’s previous reduction to N970 per litre in November.
“To alleviate transport costs during this holiday season, Dangote Refinery is offering a holiday discount on PMS. From today, our petrol will be available at N899.50 per litre at our truck loading gantry or SPM,” Chiejina said.
The refinery has also introduced an innovative credit scheme allowing customers to purchase additional fuel on credit.
“For every litre purchased on a cash basis, consumers will have the opportunity to buy another litre on credit, backed by a bank guarantee from Access Bank, First Bank, or Zenith Bank,” the spokesman explained.
Chiejina expressed the company’s gratitude to Nigerians for their continued support and emphasized the refinery’s dedication to providing high-quality petroleum products.
He highlighted the company’s commitment to offering competitively priced fuel that is both environmentally and engine friendly.
The spokesman noted that the refinery’s operations represent a significant milestone in Nigeria’s petroleum sector, effectively ending the era of substandard and blended imported products that have historically posed risks to human health, machinery, and the environment.
