Arewa Coalition Flays Anti-Tinubu Support Group

By Abdulwaheed Olayinka Adubi, Kaduna

Coalition of Arewa APC support groups have disclaimed a group called APC Arewa Concern Forum, disclosing that such a group does not exist and cannot be found on the APC National Headquarters database.

This followed the public pronouncement of the group; APC Arewa Concern Forum, which claimed it had distanced itself from Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress and his running mate, Kashim Shettima in the coming elections.

In his reaction during a Press Conference in Kaduna on Friday, the Convener of the Coalition of Arewa APC support groups, Mallam Yusuf Idris Amoke, described the group as a group, which should not be taking seriously by the public.

Amoke however, explained that the registration number presented by the group was concocted from a forged letter of registration purportedly issued to them by APC National Headquarters Abuja.

While speaking, he said: “the office address they (the group) provided as the location of their Head Office in Kano State does exist but was found to be a tailoring shop.

“All efforts to identify the signatories on their letterhead have failed to yield a positive result as none of our contacts in both Kano APC and in Government, or the activism realm was able to identify the signatories.

“Also, Calls/Messages placed on the numbers that appear on their letterhead were not responded to.

“We later discovered that it is the usual PDP-orchestrated shenanigan to divert attention from the growing popularity of Asiwaju and all APC candidates in the North that inspired the jejune press release.”

According to the Convener, the North is known for reciprocating kind gestures, adding that the groups are ready to churn out votes in millions for APC and her candidates across the region come 2023.

Amoke further said that the groups believed in the unity and indivisibility of the country, just as he explained that it will be counterproductive if the north oppose a power shift to the south.

“Our group stands for a power shift and rotational presidency, hence, we will ensure that agents of one-sided dominance don’t triumph over well-meaning Nigerians who are with us in this journey.

“We as committed, dedicated and loyal APC support groups hereby totally condemn and dissociate ourselves from their assertions. Their opinion cannot represent the general views of the numerous Arewa support groups for APC/Tinubu.

“We are strongly behind the Candidature of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu with a great sense of optimism for victory at the polls this 2023 general elections,” Amoke averred.

The Coalition therefore urged the security agencies, party stalwarts, and comrades to be vigilant and watch out for more unscrupulous groups who may want to cause disharmony by trying to overheat the political space using a fake identity.
